It's easy to live in a place of fear. We have the suggestion of living there coming from many directions. Huge industries exist that service/generate fear. If you want to, you can live in a gated community, where you know everyone coming and going because they have to pass through a security guard. That's an option. But the word that comes to mind for me here is STERILITY. The things we can't predict or control can make us great or wise or compassionate. You can decide if you, as a rule, trust other people, or you don't. This is a fairly significant line in the sand that affects everything you'll experience. I trust people. I know people do really bad shit at times. I know that desperation presents some very bad options. But my assumption remains, even if it is tested at times. And I feel more comfortable, engaged, and optimistic about life in general as a result.
